Does anyone know?

The sun was bright and light was not the best for these
pictures but I needed to document this Hummingbird
behavior so someone can tell me....

What was this tiny bird doing?

I've never seen a hummingbird go to a pine tree

Is there sap she could be seeking?

Could it be a juvenile bird seeking nectar?

Maybe someone could shed some light on this
crazy bird's interaction
with a pine tree.

My guess is that there are insects on the tree which the bird is catching.Hummingbirds eat a lot of small insects as well as nectar.

I think that could be a possibility. My friend Barb and I were talking about that. They do feed insects when they nest too.. Thanks

Hummers love spiders.

Yes, hummingbirds eat tiny insects, escpeially spiders. It is their only source of protein and it is what they feed their young. That is why is is not good to use pesticides in your yard. It will poison the birds!
