Macro This!

There are always flowers for those who want to see them
Henry Matisse

Yesterday morning right after the refreshing cooling rains
I headed out to my yard to see if I could
Macro some flowers. I just recently learned how
to make the pictures LARGER than life on the blog and that
is what Macro does too. Brings things up close and
personal....so have a look. I had so many it was hard
to choose which ones to post.

The Rose of Sharon is one of my favorite and I have 3 different colors.
White, two shades of purple, and pink
Purple majesty kissed by rain
Pretty in pink with green accents

This bee is loaded down with pollen and trying to get into a folder flower

The lilys are about done for the season

This is Jerry my black cat.... made an interesting macro

A big ole' splash of yellow!!

This paler lavender made me think "lift your head to the sky"

This actually was the inspiration for all the flowers.... I looked out my
kitchen window and saw this white Rose of Sharon with just a glance
of sunlight on it's beautiful petals and dark crimson throat & stamen.

Are you sick of Jerry yet? sorry, couldn't resist his little face and big eyes.

I don't know what these are but loved the way the water hangs on them

even closer was even better

Mr. bee still trying to get in that flower..

Wow ! and if that doesn't make me want to have lunch!!

I don't want to slight my faithful friend, Ben. He's been with me for
10 years and loves me unconditionally... Always!
Hope you enjoyed the macro-mania.

The end of a busy day.....

I go to nature to be soothed and healed,
and to have my senses put in order.
John Burroughs

There are times my days are filled with 'stuff' and I long
to just get away and drive down a country road
and hope to see something ..... At the end of today
I took that drive and came up with both hands
full of blessings.
The first blessing was this fawn in a very lovely setting.

He started to walk away and then....

after taking a second look and seeing no harm...

Did a little grooming

and off he went.

A short distance away his mom was happily eating
along side a pond.

She was not paying attention to me either.

Then another car came down the road startling her.

and she was gone .

Further down the road I saw this darling fawn being
groomed by it's mom.

If you click you can get a closer look.
My Sony H9 is in the shop once again and
I'm using the H5 with does not have the
tele-conversion lens. Doesn't reach as far!! Sorry.

They too saw me stopped and it wasn't long....

Mom was gone and baby after.

Kestrels.....They're everywhere

I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting
station, through which God speaks to us
every hour, if we will only tune in.
George Washington Carver
WKsTRL ~ Tune in for Kestrels.........

Get ready for some of the best shots!

Dad tending the nest.

Two boys playing hopscotch on a very small area

You say you have an itch there?

Not quite ready to fly..

It's hard to balance on this thingy.

Mom ever watching.. She was a good mom!

The first sign of life in the nest....mom bringing cicadas

Dad was a good dad too.... ever watching is what they did.

From lofty high points.

Baby boy exploring the roof after coming out of the nest
Only girl, down on the roof.

Brothers discussing hunting?

More antics on the ledge

I'm so handsome.... check out the 'pin' feathers on top
of my head.

Top of the world

Once they came out they were 'everywhere'

Can you see me now?

Then there was the tree 'action' - 3 babies at once.

One has captured prey....

But there is a 'take away' and the other has it now

Hey! Do I look fat in this picture?

First picture of the baby girl in the tree.

Feeding is exhausting and makes the parents
hungry for food for themselves.

A Popular haunt once they were all out of the nest.
(top of building next door to the nest)

Everyday I look out this window as I go up and down the
steps to my office......and I long to see the picture below.
Kestrel in the tree.

But.... I will have to wait on next year and hope one of
these beautiful birds decides to call this home.

I hope I haven't bored you all with KESTREL mania. One more post
and I promise I will be done!!
