We planned this trip months and months ago after barbie
saw it on Lynne Hasty Brook Blog. We didn't tell anyone
because we weren't sure we could come until the last minute.
But when everything worked out we were in the car and on
our way to Wild and Wonderful West Virginia.
I grew up in PA very close to the MD Mason Dixon line,
and WVA was a place as a child my family visited often. So I was
anxious to drive those wonderful winding curvy roads once again.

The Redbud was in bloom making a beautiful splash
of color along the roads... the winding curvy roads.
This little water fall was a surprise when we took a dirt road in
search of some water fowl. (none found)
Keith, who we've gotten to know and love!!! left us a note
with some cookies to welcome us to the cabin

Wonderful photographs! Glad everyone is having a good time. Can't wait for more about the festival.
I'm staying tuned...Looks to be a very scenic adventure!
What fabulous pics! I wish I could have tagged along for this "wild and wonderful" adventure! :)
Gorgeous scenery.That cabin is perfect.
Blessings,Ruth
I'm thrilled you both were able to head south for the birding festival...it really sounds like a lot of fun and after looking at your photos..the vistas are worth it even if one didn't go for the birding!!
but..who would do that!!??
Loved that bridge and your little cabin in the woods does set a wonderful tone for your trip..how nice!!
Have fun.
Thank you for presenting the fine scenery of West Virginia so well. Have only driven through this state quickly on the highways, yet I sense you've captured its natural atmosphere just as it should be.
Lovely photos! I especially liked the Trillium photo. We have at least 3 Trillium species growing in our yard (which is mostly woods)- but none as spectacular as the variety of Trillium you photographed. Looks like a wonderful trip.
You got fresh-baked cookies from Keith?
I feel so ripped off. All he did for us was bring us toilet paper.
