That would be ME!!
I'm a blue-gray Gnatcatcher... I am a tiny
bird with a long tail.

I am the male and you can tell by the dark black line above
my eyes. It's Spring and I'm in breeding plumage.

I am usually very active flitting from branch to branch
but today I decided to preen so my friend Jalynn could
get some very coveted pictures of me.

I like to flick my tail from side to side to scare up some
hiding bugs. My diet consists of small insects and spiders.
My habitat of choice would be deciduous forests
and preferably near water

Am I not the cutest bird in the Swamp?

A cutie indeed...I can almost hear him sing.
This is a wonderful post! A great series of photos so we can see him from every angle. I've never seen one but now I'm prepared. Thanks.

YEP, CUTEST LIL THING! I can't believe you captured so many photos of this very flitty bird!
Great series of photos. Have you ever noticed that when you see the birds head on that they all look like they are mad?
I have never seen a Gnatcatcher. I wonder why they don't come around here? We sure have our fair share of gnats.
Such wonderful places, so different from where I have lived. The Hamlet of Gordon, Ohio is where I was born and raised and it is how small hamlets used to be and this one still exists.

Yes he is! What a wonderful performer too!! I love how you captured him in so many cute poses!!
What an excellent series of shots! They more than make up for all the Blue-grey Gnatcatchers that I heard but did not see well during a bird walk with some friends today. Thanks!
Agreed! He's just too cute, and the photos are wonderful.
