I'm on my way to NY to see the PBR
(Professional Bull Riders)
I stay in NJ and always go to the same park.
The Menlo park... to see what I can see. On this
morning it was cold and as I approached the foot bridge
I could see the pond was frozen over.

The Menlo park... to see what I can see. On this

I could see the pond was frozen over.
I may have been cold, but the ducks didn't seem to mind it all.
I just don't know how they can stand in freezing water and doze
Out in the middle of the pond an open spot was found by a
bunch of Gulls. They weren't minding the cold and ice either.
They were ducking under, and drinking and splashing
And then someone must have given the alert that wing
formations were being judged so they all gave it a try
Getting tired of the wing display I see this duck was
'wading right in' not even aware that he was different
The first thing I see is a little squirrel sitting perfectly still
and holding his little hands together tight.
As I trudged nearer and nearer he did not even move.
The morning snow was sticking to the top of his head
and on the ends of his bushy tail
When I saw this on the side of a tree, it looked like a
big old bug with legs and even an eye.

As I neared the Apartments... I spotted this Red -bellied
woodpecker on a planter and wondered.... why?

That was such an enjoyable walk through the park, and so much to see.The gulls with their wings stretched upwards are so pretty. But,Oh,I'm just a litle jealous about the PBR.I do hope you enjoyed every minute. It sounds like fun.

Thanks Ruth, and yes the Bull riding was alot of fun and excitement. You can't go there and not enjoy it...that is if you like Cowboys and Bulls! Ditto to both!!
Nice series Jalynn! I love the blue in the mallards wing. Hope you had a great time at the PBR.

I loved this post...action, adventure and an unknown...that appears to be some kind of sparrow.
The rodeo looks fun and I really loved the park photos. The color on the mallard drake's head is just so vibrant green. I also like the one where the duck wandered into the seagulls...reminds me of the sesame street song..."one of these is not like the other".
Such a fun post..thank you for sharing it!
Quite a combination -- bulls and birds.
Marsha: Wish I would have thought of that sesame street song... It's been awhile since I had little ones and watched that stuff. Thanks for all your comments. I so enjoy them!
