A Song to be Sung!

A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song.
Chinese Proverb

The House Wren has a song and both the male and female
sing during mating, nesting, hatching and feeding the young.
My yard is filled with song!!! When they leave it is soooo quiet.

The House Wren

In my back yard I have the Carolina Wren nesting in my
gas tank and in the front yard I have 3 pairs of House Wrens.
Talk about busy... I don't hear much from the ones in the
gas tank, but the ones in the front yard. Man! Songs abound.

The yard is filled with musical lyrics ...

They sing for their supper.
They sing because they are happy.

They sing because they have found a mate.

There's a song to be sung, and by darn they are going to sing it!
Happy Thou Are.

Happy Thou Be!

One family is the apple tree checking out the black box.

Another in the new freshly painted yellow outhouse in the walnut tree.

And the third one thinks he will take an old stand by...

Yep this one looks good to me.
I'm going to be quite busy getting pictures when all these
babies are hatched!
I hope all this singing made you has happy as it makes me!!!
To God be the Glory.

I can almost hear them. so beautiful. I had never really noticed the wrens until a few years ago. we were building our house, and one little male decided that it was HIS.. He would fly in he eaves and sit on the header or rafters and just sing his little heart out.. wrens quickly became one of my favorite birds.. thanks for sharing.

I have a set or pair of Wrens that have been here for several years or couples keep coming back. I have some real problems telling the House Wrens and Carolina Wrens apart. I don't know why. Anyway, they love to root through the leaf litter and wood pile looking for insects.

You seem to have done everything right and have more than most.

I also love the way your bird houses open. Never dawned on me to open them with leather hinges in the front. Mine all open from the bottom. Duh? Can't see nothing there.

I love these little guys but have not seen one arrive yet. I love all of the photos but he is just too cute peaking out of the outhouse :-)
