Kestrel Humor....

When you have 1000 Kestrel pictures that all
seem to look alike you have to get creative...so!
Let's have some Kestrel Humor....

Hi! I'm the first female Kestrel out on the ledge.
See what big eyes I have? I can see everything from
up here. What? you say I look cross-eyed. That wasn't
nice!

Can you lick your feet? I can... click to see a close up

I like to pick my toes with my beak too.

My backside is just as pretty as my front...

don't ya think?
Let's get serious for just a moment

Listen up!

Shhhh I have a secret to tell you

Look over here to my left.... see that little head?

I'm excited and happy to tell you that's my
little sister...

Let's see if we can get her to come out here on the
ledge with me.

Look Sis I can flap and jump... it's safe out here. You say you
don't like the sun.. well soon it will be gone and then you
have to come out.

Careful... watch your step

Dah! not that way. Turn around. That lady down there
won't hurt us.. She likes to point that thing up here
for some reason.

There you go... hold on tight and dig those little
feet in. I'll just sit quiet until you get your center
of gravity ....

Take it easy....sis, calm down.

Don't ya think we look like twins?

What! no! you can't jump...

Look at me! I'm telling you one last time. ..don't jump!

I can't watch this I'm going back in the nest

Hey! this is really cool... I can stretch my wings

Clean up a little for mom when she brings us lunch

Just because I turned around doesn't mean I
can't see you

This is way too much fun!

What's up there in the sky? Is that you dad?

What do you think this pose means?
You will find out in the very next Kestrel post.
Coming to my Blog very soon.

Let's See What's Blooming

The Kestrels will return in the next post....

What with Spring almost gone and Summer
coming Monday I had to post a few
'Blooming Flowers' from the yard.
The Pink Peony smells just as good as
it looks. Heavenly Divine!

The Purple Clematis with it's yellow accents is
alive and well..

Lantana is a plant that hummingbirds love and
so do I.

I have a real problem keeping roses... but this one is
thriving in it's 3rd year.

As I get closer for a 'macro' what do I see in the petals?

A tiny little creature looking back at me...

I have no idea what he is, but isn't he just the cutest
little thing?

The Amen! of Nature is always a flower.

Continuing Saga of Baby Kestrels.....

Much changes from one day to the next once the Kestrels
come out where you can see them.
When I arrived the next day the male had already
flown the nest and was sitting on the chimney next
door. He kept hopping around and
making me nervous.

This is the Male that had his mouth wide open in the last post.

He now is learning how difficult it may be to find food

While I'm sitting there watching he fell into the chimney
and I was so upset I left.

Mom and Dad were close by watching so I figured they
would take care of it...

When I returned two hours later the female was
perched alone at the edge of the hole.

She was starting to test out her wings too

Then I looked up to the roof and I saw the little Male
doing some calisthenics on one of the corbels

He thankfully had survived the chimney and was out and
happy and active as ever
Getting pictures of a bird that usually isn't even
visible is just so thrilling..
You want the moments to last forever...

What is this? A neckroll? How cute! click for a closer look

I am the boy... I have black dots

I am the girl... I have brown streaks

And, a cute little face and pin feathers... see them
on top of my head?

Dad is back and watching every move both from me
and his precious babies.

You are gonna get sick of Kestrels cause I already
have hundreds of pictures waiting to be edited and
posted!!
