This afternoon I was sitting in my dining room watching
the birds at the feeders when something caught my eye.
It was a groundhog coming down from the field and
going into a hole behind my Playhouse. He no more
went in and he came flying out with another bigger
groundhog right behind him. I had the camera
in hand but it happened so fast I missed it.
Just a minute passes and the bigger groundhog
returns and takes up a watch at the top of his hole.

Very cool series! Good thing they aren't carnivores with a mouth like that!! Thanks for sharing and hopefully spring will be here soon. BTW-Love the Steelers insignia!
What an awesome post Jalynn! Imagine that your own ground hog.
Great story!
Craig
always wondered what a ground hog looked like
Bud.
Thanks Michele - Go Steelers
Craig: I have more than one and later in the Spring there will be babies...
My Budgies: I'm glad you got to see a groundhog... They hibernate and this is about the time they emerge, but apparently this one was still sleepy!
How cute is that - a sleepy groundhog!! I love how you caught him yawning! He must've been doing some late night partying in the yard maybe....
This was a GOOD one! I just loved this sleepy guy, yawning and nodding away. I guess this means spring is still aways off :-)
I stopped and read your blog and looked at the photograph. I just wanted you to know I am not nuts about groundhogs but I would not chase them out. I don't know what I will do if a skunk ever takes up residence.
Great series!! I enjoyed this.
Awesome series! That yawn was absolutely adorable! Great behavior captured! Thanx!
Oh, he's so cute, and the photos are terrific! And the bluejay from your last post is gorgeous!
