grab your camera and head out..there is a Redtail close

It is a heavily traveled road and not much room to get
off on the side, so I pulled over with flashers blinking and
used the burst mode to get oh ahhhh about 150 picts.
He paid no attention to me and hopped from one tree to
another and kept his eye on the prey I couldn't see
You always wish you are CLOSER or the light is BETTER orthere was more COLOR, but hey it is what it is..
I took what I got.
He sure was intent on breakfast
But he flew down a couple times and came up empty handed
Fearing my life on this very busy road....
I left him to his work and went home.

Don't you just love burst mode? I use it ALOT. Thanks for sharing that gorgeous Red-tailed Hawk with us.
Yes Lynne I DO love the burst but it can be just as much a curse as a blessing when it comes to editing and deleting. I kept only 37 of all those pictures. Thank you for your comments!!
I feel the same way about the hassle of editing, but getting "the shot" makes it all worth while! Your hawk pictures were definately worth it!
These are great pictures and I think you got some nice shots plus he wasn't just sitting still..which also makes it harder to get that one shot you want. I enjoyed seeing these. Thanks

BG: If I had your DSLR I would have gotten more than one shot of his descent...
I really do use the same burst mode for almost all of my shots except those that I know I have under control and even then it is sometimes wise to do it if your memory card is big enough. I shoot in RAW too and that means huge picture sizes so the cards fill up faster.
It is a nice series of Red-tail Hawk photographs. You did good and will have to see what you find there along the road in the future.

Yes, I spent a lot of time this morning, trying to find Sally Flowers and her hats but I couldn't find anything about her which is odd as she was very popular in 1951 and 1952. Almost an equal to the more famous Ruth Lyons of Cincinnati.
He's really something, isn't he?
