Rooms for 'Wren t '

In the Oak tree I hung a log cabin bird house...

weathered and old but nonetheless....
occupied

I know because the Wren chooses to stand upon the
little wooden chair

and is peering into the hole...

and just the other day... I hear peeping sounds and see

little heads popping out. I count three.

What must they think seeing the world for the
first time

It won't be long before these little ones fledge

They sense or hear when food is arriving and
lean out and open wide

"Hey mom .. up here!"

"Can't you see I'm starving?"

In an instant ... down the hatch

It's amazing how often this occurs.. Both parents feed
and they arrive every 10 minutes with a fresh bug.

You better be ready cause it happens in only seconds..

Then mom leans in and out she comes with
the 'sack' in mouth...

Double occupancy...
Meanwhile in the back yard...
The little yellow house is now
occupied by a different Wren pair. No babies
popping heads out here.

But it won't be long.. Mom keeps a watchful eye at all times

Always one of them near the nest

Mom and Dad look a like so you never know which one is there

But I'm assured there are babies as they are
carrying insects to the nest

and little green worms

I'll try to find time to catch some more action as
the nest progresses..
