You have heard of Going Green.......
Well today I am Going Orange.....
Every year I put out Oranges to attract
the beautiful Orioles, but sometimes get other
birds that come.
While going through my hard drive...yes I'm still at it.
I saved a bunch for you to see.
Enjoy!

Catbirds are a welcome treat at the feeders... They
are not only pretty but have a lovely song to serenade
All fun to see!! Beautiful pics!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of putting the orange halves on the ends of tree branches.
ReplyDeleteI love catbirds too and agree that their songs are wonderful.
Oh, this a great series of photos! Love the red-bellies eating from the orange halves! I have not been successful getting a Baltimore O. to my backyard yet! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteA lovely series of pictures and a good reminder that before we know it spring will be here again.
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to see these!
ReplyDeleteIt is funny that you posted pictures of the red bellied woodpecker eating oranges today. I just started getting a red bellied at my feeding station and did some research on this bird and read that they liked oranges.
ReplyDeleteI have some clementines and I peeled it and put the sections in a coconut feeder of mine. I had my doubts on whether they actually liked oranges and then I found your blog post and have solid evidence!!
Love the orioles. I have them in my yard from June to August. They LOVE Mullberries and I have a tree full of them.
Great pictures.
that is sooooooo cool.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try that !!!!
The shots were terrific!
ReplyDeleteI especially loved the female red belly!
What really caught my eye was the varied posts you used to mount your oranges!
Good luck next year!
