Coming Home...

As we started home on the roads that were familiar the threat
of getting lost was put aside. As we get older that seems to be one of the things we do best. Get LOST! Although we always make it a happening almost as if we planned it! Anyway, I have the privileged passenger seat so I can snap away as we go cruising down the highway.

There was some beautiful scenery...a hint of fall in the foliage

There were a lot of Great Blue Herons out for the day

Looking and fishing

Happened upon this Kingfisher, not a bird I can get too often

Speaking of birds:
Back at Sapsucker Woods in Ithaca I caught this bird..
I think it must be a warbler but don't know which one

A Flicker in a tree

One Kestrel

Two turtles on a log

And a song sparrow posing prettily

The deer there unafraid and would walk right up to you on the trails

We did make a stop at Bald Eagle and get some scenery
and sailboats

I spotted these two deer and we turned around and went back
for these shots.

A doe and her fawn grazing along a hill at the side of the road

They decided to cross the road and we were cheering them
on..... hurry hurry... this is a busy road right on a turn

Holding our breath as the fawn went next...

A sigh of relief when they both had safely crossed over.
Oh My Gosh and what is this up a tree? When we first saw it we had a good laugh..
It was a statue that someone
had carved and placed in
the crook of the tree. What a nice note to end my trip.

I hope you enjoyed this
jane & Barbie adventure as much as we did.

Stay tuned for another one coming up
in the not to distant future....

Jane & Barbie Adventures are so much fun :-) Beautiful scenery on your trip home and I bet it was a double take seeing the bear statue in the tree.

Wonderful, wonderful! (Is the bubble machine on?) My very favorite of these (maybe my very favorite of all your photos that I've seen) is the second song sparrow. That's a perfect shot - it needs to be framed and on the wall!
